Jaish al-Adal frees abducted border guards from within Iran: FO

ISLAMABAD: The Foreign Office (FO) of Pakistan has said that the abducted Iranian border guards were not brought to Pakistani territories, militant outfit released these guard from within Iran after negotiations with Iranian officials – ARY News reports.

In a statement issued on Friday, the FO said that the provincial authorities of Balochistan have insured that neither the Iranian border guards were brought to Balochistan nor were they returned from here.

It was further told that the Iranian authorities held negotiations with the militant organization 'Jaish al-Adal' and set free eight of its arrested members, after which 5 abducted border guards were also released by the outfit.

These border guards were released from within the Iranian territory.

Pakistan had been repeatedly saying that the abducted border guards have not been kept into hostage by the militants inside Pakistan, yet Iranian officials continued to allege that their personnel were held captive somewhere inside Pakistan near the Pak-Iran border.
