According to details, law enforcement personnel raided a madressah which belonged to Jaish-e-Mohammad as part of a search operation and seized Jihadi literature and books. As per sources, 20-25 people are being questioned by law enforcement personnel.
Jaish-e-Mohammad is a banned outfit and has been constantly accused of carrying out terrorist activities against India. Most recently, India blamed Jaish-e-Mohammad for the recent Pathankot attack, in which seven Indian army personnel were killed. According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s House claimed several activists of Jaish-e-Mohammad have been arrested and their offices have been sealed.
Yesterday, Pakistani authorities took into ‘protective custody’ Jaish-e-Mohammad leader and chief Masood Azhar. Pakistan has said it was cooperating with India over the Pathankot attacks by investigating its leads.
