JI declares ban on Mubashir Lucman as disappointing move
LAHORE: Jamat e Islami (JI) has declared the ban on ARY News anchorperson, Mubashir Lucman from participating in any program, as a disappointing move – ARY News reports.
In a statement issued from Mansoora, Lahore, the JI information secretary, Ameer ul Azeem said that to prohibit an anchor or to ban a channel is no solution to an issue.
The statement mentioned that whether it is a ban on pillion-riding or an organization, it is all similar to averting one’s gaze from the real problem.
The JI urged that whether it is an individual or an organization, they must be dealt for their mistakes according to law, yet putting a ban on someone is no solution.
It was further said that crisis media is being through these days, can only be overcome by the media itself by setting a code of conduct, acting upon PEMRA rules and other regulations.
Mubashir Lucman was stopped by IHC (Islamabad High Court) from conducting any TV program on the basis of a complaint filed by the Lal Masjid Shuhada Foundation’s representative Hafiz Ahtesham.
