KARACHI: Karachi's traditional rivals Jamat e Islami (JI) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) were seemed to be once again face to face over the issue of Governor of Sindh, soon after the high-level law and order meeting chaired by the Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif earlier today – ARY News reports.
After attending the meeting at which the Federal Interior Minister, the Army Chief, DG ISI and several other higher-ups were present, JI Karachi Ameer, Hafiz Naeem ur Rahman stressed on the need of an impartial Governor for the province.
He said that Ishrat ul Ibad has already served as the Governor of Sindh, for an extraordinary long period of time, now he should leave the slot and have some rest.
MQM leader, Haider Abbas Rizvi responded to Hafiz Naeem ur Rahman statement, saying that JI's pain can be felt very clearly. He said that Karachi Operation was initiated on MQM's demand and for this the party is thankful to the Prime Minister for paying due attention to the financial hub of the country.
Rizvi labeled it a positive sign that such a huge forum gathered today, over Karachi's situation of law and order.
