India can never forget its underrated superstar Joginder Sharma who rose to fame after the World T20 final in 2007 against Pakistan when skipper M.S. Dhoni infused his faith in the relatively unknown bowler.

Pakistan’s star cricketer of the tournament in 2007 Misbah-ul-Haq played a dull scoop shot after hitting a six and was caught by Sreesanth, sending India into delirium, and Pakistan into depression.

After the World T20, Joginder was given a job with the Haryana Police. He rose through the ranks and is now Deputy Superintendent of Police.

Joginder never played a T20I for India after that. Soon, he became a story that told and retold among fans and that day went down in cricketing folklore. That one over turned a page in Indian cricket history and Joginder became an overnight sensation.

Joginder, apart from his brief stint with India, also played for Chennai Super Kings in the IPL. In his 73 first class matches, the seaming all-rounder scored 2,689 runs, with five centuries to his name and also took 289 wickets.
