Jordan stars as England beat Windies by 5 wickets

BARBADOS: Chris Jordan made 27 runs and took three wickets as England defeated West Indies by 5 wickets in the third and final Twenty20 here at Barbados, ARY News reports on Friday.

English Captain Eoin Morgan won the toss and put his side to bat first in the match.

Batting first, the visitors made 165/6 in the alloted 20 overs. Opener Michael Lumb was the top scorer for the team as he made his T-20 career best of 63 runs from 40 balls whereas his opening partner Alex Hales contributed 38 runs fron 31 balls. Chris Jordan made 27 runs and Morgan scored 18 runs.

West Indies bowlers Krishmar Santokie and Sheldon Cottrell took two wickets each whereas spinner Sunil Narine took dismissed one batsman.

In reply, the hosts fell short of just five runs as they scored 160/7 runs in their 20 overs. Lendl Simmons made 69 runs from 55 balls followed by Dinesh Ramdin's 33 from 21 balls. Dwayne Bravo contributed 16 runs to the scorecard whereas Darren Sammy and Marlon Samuels made 15 runs each.

Chris Jordan was the star bowler for England as he took three wickets and conceded 39 runs in his four overs. Ravi Bopara took two wickets whereas Jade Dernbach took one wicket.

Jordan was named the Player of the Match whereas Darren Sammy was named the Player of the Series.

West Indies had already won the three match series 2-1.
