HYDERABAD: Journalists holding demonstrations across the country on the call of Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists to protest against the ban on ARY News.

The workers of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) and Tehreek-e-Minhajul Quran holding a protest demonstration against Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority’s (PEMRA) one sided decision of ban on ARY News, in front of Hyderabad Press Club.

A protest demonstration by Ghotki Union of Journalists led by Amir Hussain Channa was held in front of Ghotki Press Club. The protest was attended by a large number of local journalists, political workers, social activists and lawyers.

The protesters chanted slogans against the Pemra’s decision of ban on ARY News.

President District Bar Asghar Panhiar, JUI’s Maulana Ghulam Rasool Kalhore, Qaisar Pathan, Allahwasayo Ghoto and Tehreek Minhajul Quran’s Haji Abdul Razzaq Arain condemned the regulatory authority’s decision and demanding lifting of ban on ARY News.

Tando Muhammad Khan district press club journalists and members of civil society protested against 15-day ban imposed on ARY News by the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority.

A protest demonstration was held at Hyderabad-Tando Muhammad Khan road to press for the demand of lifting curbs on ARY News.

Majlis-e-Wahdatul Muslimeen and Haq Sach Falahi Tanzeem also staged a demonstration and chanted slogans against the government.
