Junior Hockey World Cup: Germany beats France to lift crown

NEW DELHI: Germany defeated France 5-2 to lift the Junior Hockey World Cup for the sixth time here on Sunday, ARY News reports.

The final saw Germany and France clashing against each other for the Junior Hockey World Cup at the Major Dhyan Chand Stadium. France had reached the final of the World Cup for the first time.

France started the game in a solid fashion but the Germans got their grip on the game as time went and won the match 5-2. The Germans won the title for the sixth time.

Christopher Ruhr was the highest scorer in the tournament with his tally of nine goals.

Netherlands claimed the third spot in the competition after defeating Malaysia 7-2.
