ISLAMABAD: The most senior judge of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, Justice Gulzar Ahmad has took oath as the acting Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) at a ceremony held at the Supreme Court in Islamabad on Monday.
The ceremony was attended by judges and lawyers of the apex court, in which Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed administered oath to the acting CJP.
Justice Gulzar Ahmad will serve as the acting Chief Justice of Pakistan until the return of Chief Justice Asif Saeed Khosa who has proceeded on a seven day official visit to Russia.

Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) took oath of his office on January 18, earlier this year and is due to retire on December 20 in the same year.
After the retirement of CJP Khosa, Justice Gulzar Ahmad will take oath as the top judge of Pakistan and he will retire on February 1, 2022.
