Justice Sardar Raza sworn-in as CEC

TOP NEWS

Chief Justice of Pakistan Nasir-ul-Mulk took the oath from Justice (Retd.) Sardar Muhammad Raza Khan.

The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs had issued a notification of the appointment of Justice Sardar Raza as the Chief Election Commissioner for the next five years.

The notification was issued after he resigned as Chief Justice of the Federal Shariah Court.

His tenure will start after ten days of the swearing-in ceremony.

The toughest role for the former CJ of Federal Shariah Court is to restore the image of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) as an impartial institution.

It should be noted that the rigging allegations levelled against ECP after the general elections of 2013 has damaged the overall image of the institution.
