K-Electric striving hard to meet Karachi’s power demand: spokesperson

KARACHI: K-Electric here on Thursday said that they were striving hard to meet the city’s power demand, ARY News reported.

A K-Electric spokesperson said that Karachi’s power demand rapidly increased due to extremely hot weather and added that the power utility was trying to fulfill the electricity demand.

He said that low gas pressure affected the production process at few power plants and added that partially load management was being carried out in some areas of the city.

Earlier in the day, unannounced power cuts in different areas of Karachi had irked masses ahead of the hot weather prediction in the city by the MET Office.

As per details, unscheduled load shedding in the metropolis had created water shortage in various parts of the city.

Areas including, North Nazimabad, Hasrat Mohani Society, Hussain De Silva Town, Pahar Ganj, Paposh and adjoining areas were facing power cuts.

It may be noted that, despite being assured of no load shedding on Eid, citizens faced brunt of power outages all three days of the Eid festival.
