Kangana bags National Award for Best Actress!

TOP NEWS

With Queen, Kangana Ranaut was able to establish herself as a force to reckon with in the Bollywood film fraternity. Her stellar performance in the female-centered film garnered critical appreciation and noteworthy praise from all quarters of the Indian film industry. Not only did Queen strike a chord with the audience, it also received numerous awards and performed well at the box office. Kangana recently won the prestigious National Award for Best Actress in Queen for portraying ‘Rani from Rajouri’. Not only that, Queen also took home the award for Best Film as well!

Actors and actresses had praised Kangana highly for her performance in the film, which set standards for drama films in Bollywood. Kangana played Rani, an introvert, under-confident Indian girl who gets dumped by her fiancée, just days before her marriage. The heartbroken lass eventually decides to go on her intended honeymoon trip to Europe (Paris and Amsterdam, specifically) in hopes that it would aid in lifting her spirits.
Rani soon becomes introduced to clubs, drinking and dancing. On her own, she realizes the value of independence and proceeds to have fun by exploring new opportunities and cultures. The film depicted the typical story of Indian women who were not confident or big achievers until they were exposed to opportunities and options as a whole. The coming-of-age film also highlighted the fact that women do not necessarily need to depend on a man to enjoy life; they could do so in a fine manner all on their own.

Kangana had picked up the National award for Best Supporting Actress in 2008 for her role as a struggling drug addict model in Fashion. The actress has time and again proved her mettle as one of the most talented actresses in B-town, as there remains no doubt that this girl is here to stay!
