Kangana Ranaut has managed to astound everyone with her stellar performances in blockbuster Bollywood flicks such as Tanu Weds Manu, Queen and Tanu Weds Manu Returns. In each film, the actress has portrayed a strong female character and won accolades for her performances. Her real life is not much different from her reel life, since the actress often comes up with bold statements and is not afraid of voicing her opinions on different subjects.

Fresh from winning yet another National Award, the actress’ achievements are not being talked about in the media as such. Rather, her personal life, whether it be her legal battle with Hrithik Roshan or her war of words with ex-boyfriend Adhyayan Suman are being discussed at length in the media. Kangana is being attacked from all sides and this is how she chose to respond to her detractors in her latest interview:-

On being asked to respond to allegations by her ex-boyfriend Adhyayan that she was a witch who had performed black magic on him, she said, “Witchcraft is an ancient art, everyone should know about it. What is wrong with witchcraft? Don’t we like Harry Potter? I would want my daughter to know about witchcraft.”

She did however said that she was upset at the recent controversies surrounding her.
“The recent turn of events in my life has shocked me. It has been overwhelming and unsettling for me also. I was probably prepared for everything. But I wasn’t prepared for this. This has brought about a different side of our society. It is very hard to come to terms with this kind of suppression, this sort of name-calling, this kind of witch-hunt mentality in the 21st century,” she said.

She also alleged that some people were attempting to harm her public image but also said that these attempts would go to waste. “Attempts are being made to destroy me. Whether they are working or not is another matter,” she said.

Kangana Ranaut also said that she had worked hard as a newcomer and now that she had made a name for herself, she did not need to star with any of the big Khans in Bollywood to further elevate her career.

“Now I get a lot of offers to work with the Khans. I’m my own hero on the sets, why should I work with other heroes? The Khans did not want to work with me when I started, why should I work with them now?” she asked.
