The going had not been good for Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut. Ever since making her debut in the 2006 film Gangster (which did well at the box office and gathered decent reviews), the pretty actress almost slipped into oblivion and had to overcome hurdles in her path, to attain her current sport in the world of showbiz.

In a recent interview, Kangana Ranaut highlighted the various obstacles, difficulties and thorns she had encountered when she set out in Mumbai, to become the actress she was today. Saying that she hated the difficulties but loved her story, this is what Kangana revealed about her early days:-

“Mine has been a journey of a thousand miles. I didn’t fly first class into Mumbai. I have travelled in buses, taxis and trains, and even walked a lot. I have slept on the pavement, since I didn’t have a house. I have been caught in traps, so I had to lodge complaints against people. I have seen the ugly side. On the other hand, I have also been awarded by the President twice, and I am the highest-paid actress today (smiles),” said Ranaut.

Kangana Ranaut also said that she would someday like to write about her struggles and tribulations.

“When I came to Mumbai, I was a small-town girl, and didn’t know anything. But here I am today, utilising all those things and making a difference on such a big platform. Everything that worked against me initially has turned in my favour,” she said.

Kangana Ranaut sits pretty as the highest paid actress of Bollywood, charging a stupendous amount. Reportedly, the actress gets paid Rs 11 crore per film, after stellar successes such as Tanu Weds Manu, Queen and Tanu Weds Manu Returns.
