Karachi: Five injured while resisting robbery at Jamshed Road house

KARACHI: Five people of a family were injured when armed robbers barged into a house and opened fire at them here in Jamshed Road in the wee hours of Thursday, ARY News reported.

All injured were rushed to a nearby hospital. They were identified as Imran, head of the family, his lady health worker wife Rukhsana, and three children, namely Yasir, Aalia, and Warisha.

According to hospital doctors the condition of Imran and Yasir said to be critical while other injured were stable and out of danger.

In light of initial investigation, police said that it apparently seemed that two armed burglars broke into the house with intention to rob and on resistance during the burglary they opened fire at family members injuring five of them.

According to eye witnesses’ account, two armed motorcyclists burst into the house and over yelling for help by the family members, the suspected robbers in panic opened fire at them. No arrest could be made as the suspects after committing the crime managed to flee from the spot.

Police have lodged an FIR and started investigation.

In another incident, two armed burglars robbed a shop and deprived several other citizens of their cell phones near Water Pump Chowrangi in Federal B Area.
