KARACHI: Three people sustained injuries in an attempt to escape a fire that broke out in a cardboard factory at Bhangoria Goth in Azizabad area here on Thursday.
Six fire tenders doused the raging blaze after seven hours of firefighting.
The cause of fire could not be ascertained but it engulfed the entire building within minutes. The cardboard in the factory, a highly inflammable material, reportedly caught fire adding severity to the blaze.
Narrow alleys of the area hinder the firefighting operation resulting in massive property loss.
As the fire broke out, four to five workers present in the factory jumped out of a third floor window in an effort to save their lives, fire department officials said.
However, no loss of life has been reported in the fire incident. The fire is now under control and the cooling process has been underway, fire department officials said.
