KARACHI: Bahria Town has announced to scrap its development project – construction of a flyover and two underpasses worth Rs 1.89 billion – in Clifton area, ARY News reported Wednesday.
“It’s difficult to carry out work on public-friendly projects in Pakistan,” said Bahria Town in its statement.
Despite endeavours, we could not provide this gift to the people of Karachi. Bahria Town apologized to the citizens of Karachi over scrapping the project.
The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation had given the go-ahead to Bahria Town project after necessary inspection.
All expenses of the project had to be borne by Bahria Town, which has now been abandoned. The flyover were to be built in front of Park Lane Towers.
It may be noted here that a single-member bench of Sindh High Court had ordered on April 29 (Tuesday) to Bahria Town planners to halt its construction work on the project.
