It should be noted that DIG Traffic Ameer Shaikh had announced on Thursday that rickshaws and heavy vehicles will not be allowed on Sharah-e-Faisal as it affects the flow of traffic on the road, which is the main traffic artery that connects the city with the airport.
Shaikh said that the ban has been suspended on complaints from the general public. He said that the traffic police will devise the future strategy after carrying out a survey.
The traffic Police has decided to bar heavy vehicles from traveling on Shahrah-e-Faisal to ensure vehicular flow on the road. Any vehicle, comes in the banned category, if driven on the road by any citizen, will be taken into custody, the traffic police has said in its order.
The new traffic plan in the city will be implemented from Monday, DIG Shaikh added.
