Karachi: Bomb defused at Keamari Oil Terminal
KARACHI: A bid of a terrorist attack was foiled in Karachi by defusing a bomb in Keamari oil terminal in Jackson police jurisding this morning, ARY News reported on Wednesday.
The bomb disposal squad defused the bomb device planted at an oil tanker at the oil terminal in the port area of Karachi.
The bomb disposal squad tried for half an hour to defuse the device and later neutralized the device with a controlled blast. The bomb said to be attached with a magnetic device.
After report about presence of the bomb device Police and Rangers cordoned off the area. The tankers and other vehicles were removed from the spot.
The bomb device was carrying one kilogramme of explosive and added ball bearings to make it more lethal, bomb disposal squad staff said.
According to police security of the oil terminal was stepped up and all tankers at the terminal were being checked for security this morning. The bomb was found at an oil tanker, which was defused by the BDS through a controlled blast.
