Karachi: Driver of picnic van killed while resisting robbery bid

KARACHI: A driver of a passenger bus was killed near Hassan Square on Sunday morning when armed robbers targeted the van, ARY News reported.

The deceased was identified as Abdul Rehman. The police after initial investigation said it apparently seemed the deceased was killed on resistance during robbery bid.

The unfortunate incident took place early on Sunday morning when the mini-bus along with passengers was traveling to a picnic point. It was a picnic van of a family targeted by couple of armed robbers, police sources confirmed.

No arrest was made. However, the police have lodged an FIR.

Separately, two bodies were found from a car parked inside a garage in Mehmoodabad area of the city on Saturday night. The local residents of the area reported the police about a suspicious car and two bodies inside it.

According to police, two bodies of a man and a woman were found from a car, bearing no physical torture marks. The deceased were identified as Rashid, resident of Mehmoodabad, and Eid-ul-Nisa, resident of Delhi Colony.  The bodies were shifted to Jinnah Post Medical Complex (JPMC) for autopsy.

The woman, Eid-ul-Nisa, was married and went missing three days ago whose missing report was also filed by her Husband, police sources said.

However, mystery still prevails over the cause of deaths. Police have started the investigation.

In another incident, a suspected dacoit, Sajid, lynched to death by raged mob in Orangi Tower.
