According to police sources, DSP Tariq Saeed was attacked when he was returning to his home for Aftaari (Ramadan breakfast).
The assailants were on a motorbike wearing helmets while they fired three bullets on injured DSP’s car who is playing a key role in ongoing Karachi operation against target killers and extortionist groups.
The DSP Alfalah received one bullet on his face and was moved to a private hospital for treatment.
It is pertinent to note here that incidents of police personnel being targeted by criminals are on the rise since the start of Karachi operation in September 2013.
