Karachi issues somehow awaken PPP leadership

KARACHI: Faryal Talpur, sister of former president Asif Ali Zardari, on Tuesday reached Civic Center in Karachi with an intent to help resolve public issues making life difficult in the megapolis, ARY News reported.

Piles of garbage and filth, and drainage water on roads eventually compelled the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leadership to heed on dilapidated city of over 20 million.

PPP lawmaker Faryal Talpur, accompanied by Minister for Local Bodies Jam Khan Shoro and Home Minister Sohail Anwer Sial, held a meeting at Civic Center to listen to the woes of Karachi.

In her interaction with media afterwards, she said that her party is active for resolving the issues here. Minister for Local Bodies also admitted presence of heaps of garbage in the city.

He bemoaned that the center is mistreating the province and blamed the federal government for disrepair and poor situation of Karachi, adding that the federation is not issuing funds to the province.
