Karachi killings on rise as 107 killed in August alone

According to police, 107 people were killed in Karachi in August, which included nine policemen.

Police sources said out of the 107 killed 97 were those who fell victim to the wicked target killing practice, while last month MQM leader Rasheed Godil also escaped an assassination attempt.

In the end of August, Advocate Amir Haider was also shot dead in Gulshan Iqbal area of the city.

Terrorists also waged grenade attacks at six different places across the city, whereas the SHO Napier was also injured in the same month during an encounter with Lyari gangsters.

In another encounter, as assistant director of a secret agency was martyred in the line of duty while confronting al-Qaeda terrorists in Gulshan Iqbal 13-D area.
