Karachi: Several arrested in raids by LEAs

KARACHI: Law Enforcing Agencies (LEAs) arrested several suspects in raids from different areas of Karachi, ARY News reports on Friday.

Police carried out search operations in different areas of Baldia Town in which more than 20 alleged criminals were taken into custody. Arms and stolen motorcycles were recovered in the raids by the Police.

Sajid Sadozai, SP Baldia, said that search operations were carried out in Ittehad Town, Gulshan-e-Ghazi, Saeedabad, Abidabad and Medina Colony of Baldia in which more than 20 suspected persons were arrested.

SP further said that five TT pistols, two stolen motorcycles and drugs were recovered from the arrested persons. “They were wanted for street crimes and other criminal offences”, Sadozai said.

Three robbers arrested:

On the other hand, two robbers were arrested by the police as they were fleeing after robbing people off their valuables at Kashmir Road.

According to sources, the police signaled the dacoits to stop but the robbers started firing at the police force. The two dacoits were injured in the exchange of fire.

Another dacoit was nabbed by the police from Gizri area near Clifton after an encounter.

Rangers raids:

Rangers carried out a search operation in Ranchore Line area after receiving information about the presence of target killers in the area. Three hitmen were arrested in the raid.

According to Rangers sources, the arrested hitmen are affiliated with a political party.

Further two suspected criminals were arrested from Usmanabad area of Garden. Three Sub Machine Guns (SMGs) , Shotgun and a nine MM pistol was recovered from the arrested criminals.

Latest reports are coming that Rangers are carrying out a search operation in Hussain De Silva area of North Nazimabad. The para-military force is searching the area for criminals after sealing the entry and exit routes of the area.

Law Enforcing Agencies are carrying out search operations and crackdowns on regular basis against criminal elements in Karachi.
