Karachi: LEAs arrest dozens suspects in raids
KARACHI: An accused was killed and another injured in law enforcement agencies raids in Karachi, while dozens suspects were arrested from various areas of the city, ARY News reported on Tuesday.
Motorbike riding gunmen opened fire at a team of paramilitary rangers in Mujahid Colony near railway track. In retaliatory fire by the security men a gunman was killed, while his accomplice escaped from the scene.
In a shootout between Baghdadi police and bus robbers at Mauripur road, a robber was arrested with weapon and snatched valuables.
The rangers launched a targeted operation in Sultanabad early morning today and arrested scores of suspects and captured weapons from their possession.
Around 400 rangers officials, including women commandoes, participated in the house to house search operation after blocking the entry and exit points of the area.
Moreover, the case of attack on a police van has been registered under anti-terrorism law at Ibrahim Hyderi police station. Four policemen were killed in terrorist attack at a police mobile in Ibrahim Hyderi police precinct on Monday.
East Zone Police conducted raids in various localities and arrested 45 accused.
