Karachi: LEAs arrest five suspects in crackdown against miscreants
KARACHI: In a crackdown against miscreants, Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) conducted various raids at different parts of the city on Wednesday night, arresting five suspects including two Lyari gangsters.
The law enforcement personnel conducted a raid in the city’s most troubled area of Lyari on an intelligence tip-off about presence of Zahid Ladla – brother of slain gang leader Baba Ladla – and commander Tanvir. However, they could not be detained during the raid as officials believe they escaped from the spot moments before the raid.
Two of their accomplices were taken into custody in the raid. However, the details pertaining to the identification of the arrested gangsters could not be ascertained.
The police arrested three more suspects during raids in Gulberg and Ittehad Town.
According to police, it carried out a raid in Gulberg area of the metropolis and arrested two suspects for their involvement in street crimes and robberies.
The duo has been identified as Shakeel and Salman who were allegedly booked in number of cases. Police also claimed to recover a weapon and a stolen motorcycle from their possession.
Both suspects have confessed of their crimes, police sources said.
Separately, police arrested a suspect during a raid against street criminals in Baldia’s Ittehad Town. However, the identification of the suspect could not be established.
