Karachi: Man kills wife for 'honor', teenager shot dead

KARACHI: One person was killed and two others were injured in firing incidents in the city whereas a man killed his wife in the name of honor, ARY News reports.

According to police, a sixteen year old boy named Adam Khan was killed in a firing incident at Shaheed-e-Millat Road. The residents of the area protested against the police due to which the traffic system was severely affected.

The locals stated that the police opened fire at a dacoit which hit the sixteen year old boy The dacoit meanwhile managed to flee from scene. Police on the other hand claimed that the teenager was killed due to firing from the robber.

A person named Ali Anwar was injured in another firing incident near the Hussainian Iranian Imambargah in Kharadar.

On the other hand, a person named Ghulam Qadir was arrested after he killed his wife in the name of honor at Bilal Colony area of Karachi.

Ghulam Qadir claimed that his wife, named Razia, was an ill-reputed woman. He tried several times to convince her to change her lifestyle but took the decision when she refused to abide. He had tied the knot 15 years ago.

Police arrested Ghulam Qadir along with the murder weapon and started the legal procedures.
