MQM had called for a day of mourning over what it described as extra judicial killing of their activists.
Commercial centres, petrol and CNG stations remained closed while public transporters did not ply their vehicles on the streets of the metropolis.
The party also staged a sit-in outside Chief Minister House with the bodies of their deceased workers.
MQM has also announced that the day of mourning will be extended to Monday.
On the other hand, Shindh Home Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has requested the party to reconsider their strike call for tomorrow. He added that the demands laid by the party regarding the suspension of accused cops have been accepted.
