KARACHI: A series of explosions killed at least three persons and 22 others were injured amid security high alert on Chehlum of the martyrs of Karbala on Tuesday, ARY News reports. 

Four blasts in Karachi reported at Orangi, Qasba More and Numaish areas today. 

In blasts at Orangi and Qasba More three persons lost their lives, while 22 others were injured. 

The relief teams rushed to the bombing spot in Orangi Town number 10 after twin blasts near Imambargah Kausar on Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A). The injured were transferred to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. 

The explosion in Numaish area was held at the place where the mourners of the central procession had to offer Zohrain prayers. Fortunately the bomb device went off before the procession reached to the place. 

Security forces cordoned off the area after the blast and initiated search operation.  The explosives were kept in a pipe. A destroyed mobile phone was also found from the place. 

According to sources the explosives were kept in a pipe of a billboard.
