Karachi Operation: Police, Rangers arrest 50 criminals

KARACHI: Fifty persons, including a commander of the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban (TTP) and suspects of the Lyari gang war, were apprehended during targeted operations in different areas of the city, ARY News reports on Sunday.

According to Rangers officials, an important commander of the TTP was arrested when the force carried out a raid at Mauripur near old truck station after receiving secret information.

In a joint action by the Police and Rangers, Ramzan alias Ramzani, a suspect in the Lyari Gang War, was taken into custody. Sindh Government had announced a reward of 5 lac rupees on his head. Weapons were also recovered during the raid.

Durakhshan police took three persons into custody whereas sixteen other suspects were arrested by the police from various areas of the provincial metropolis.

Further 37 suspects were arrested by the Rangers when they carried out search operation in the city in which they were affiliated with gang wars and political groups. Large number of arsenal was also recovered by the Para-military force.

East Zone police apprehended nine criminals during an operation.
