Karachi Police chief orders arrest of wrong-way drivers, confiscation of vehicles
KARACHI: Additional Inspector General Karachi Police Ameer Sheikh on Tuesday ordered to arrest the drivers/ riders who travel wrong way and confiscate their vehicle, ARY News reported.
Implementation on the order has started across the city, the police department said.
Soon after issuance of the order, two policemen fell victim to it along other citizens. They all have been transferred to the police station.
A statement issued by the police department said, “The additional IGP issued the directions to implement rules and regulations and arrest is being made under Section 279.”
It may be noted that street crimes in the megalopolis have gone high, specially snatching of cell phones and abductions of children. Police are so far unable to control the situation.
