Karachi: Police recover 280-kg explosive-making chemicals

KARACHI: City police on late Wednesday recovered 280-kilogram chemicals during a snap-checking in Surjani Town area. The chemical could have been used in explosive making, ARY News reported.

Police, during its routine snap-checking, flagged down a rickshaw in Surjani Town but the two people inside it fled after sighting a police while rickshaw driver was nabbed. During the inspection, police recovered ten sacks filled with aluminum nitrate powder, sulphur and other chemicals from the rickshaw.

According to police, the chemicals could have been used in making explosive material. The police began further investigation from the arrested rickshaw driver.
