Karachi: Police round up eight suspects in overnight raids
KARACHI: In a crackdown against miscreants, police have rounded up eight suspects including two target killers and their female accomplice in separate raids at different parts of the metropolis in the wee hours of Saturday, ARY News reported.
Police have detained two target killers and their suspected female accomplice in a raid at Iqbal Market of Orangi Town. The suspects have been identified as Aman, Samar Iqbal, and Shabana, affiliated to Muttahidda Qaumi Movement-London (MQM-L), police sources said.
Arms and ammunition along with a hand-grenade were also recovered from the possession of arrested suspects. The suspects were involved in killings of 11 people including policemen and the activists of rival political parties whose bodies were allegedly dumped in Manghopir area, police sources said.
Their female accomplice – Shabana – has been allegedly involved in various target killings. She was said to be involved in kidnapping of Abdul Hafeez alias Bhola who was later killed, police said.
Separately, police arrested two gangsters of Lyari gang-war in Mominabad area of the city. A hand-grenade, weapon and ammunition were seized from their possession.
In another raid at Super Highway, intelligence agencies arrested an alleged terrorist. Mobile phones and other sophisticated devices said to be recovered from his possession.
