Karachi: Rangers seize large cache of weapons

A Rangers spokesperson has said that on an intelligence report Rangers personnel conducted a raid and recovered a cache of weapons hidden underground to be used for terrorism in the city.

The weapons including a light machine gun, six sub-machine guns, a seven-millimeter rifle, 44-bore rifle, 12-bore pump action shotgun and nine 30-bore pistols were recovered during a raid in Lyari area of the metropolis.

Rangers claimed that the seized weapons were to be used to spread anarchy and carry out targeted killings in Karachi.

The weapons were hidden underground. The para-military force took the arms into their custody and launched investigation into the incident.

Massive burglary in auto market

Unidentified thieves deprived the shopkeepers of Karachi auto-parts market from millions of rupees cash and other valuables with a large-scale burglary incident.

After the unidentified arsonists burnt scores of vehicles in various parts of the city previous night, unidentified burglars deprived the shopkeepers of an automobile market near Tibet Centre from large amount of cash and other valuables in a midnight crime.

According to sources, the thieves entered in the market from the rooftop of the building. They tied the aged watchman of the market with rope and broken iron shutters of 21 shops with a cutting implement.

The shopkeepers in the morning came to know about the massive theft.

Police has detained the watchman for investigation.

The shopkeepers have complained that it was third crime incident in the market but the police failed to nab the culprits.
