KARACHI: Rangers arrested seven suspects during a targeted operation in Ilyas Goth, area of Liaqatabad, amid strong resistance by the local people, ARY News reported Sunday.
When Rangers personnel entered the neighbourhood, two of the suspects opened fire on them. However, in retaliatory fire by the Rangers, one suspect got injured and was subsequently arrested.
Rangers’ spokesman said their personnel faced resistance from criminal elements in the area. He said seven criminal suspects were arrested during operation in the area.
The local people, protesting against the Rangers operation, demanded release of the arrested persons.
Area people also attempted to stop Rangers’ vehicle entering the area, but to no avail.
