Karachi: Suspected terrorist confesses to have trained by RAW

According to the police, suspect Riaz alias Lakar confessed to have got training in India during interrogation by law enforcement personnel at Garden Investigation Branch.

Police also informed that the suspect belonged to a political party and member of Lyari sector office.

A Rangers spokesperson had said Fahim alias Mirchee, Nasir alias Khaji and Riaz alias Lakar were arrested after an encounter with the paramilitary force.

The three men were produced before an anti-terrorism court. The court endorsed the apprehension order issued under Section 11-EEEE of Pakistan Protection Act and permitted the preventive detention of the three accused for 90 days.

According to investigation sources, three suspects were trained to operate weapons including rocket launchers, light machine guns, Kalashnikovs, pistols, and other weapons. They were also trained to make parcel bombs, petrol bombs and preparing explosives.
