Karachi: Three killed, 30 arrested in operations

KARACHI: Three people, including two police officers, were killed in different firing incidents whereas 30 criminals were arrested by Law Enforcing Agencies (LEAs) in targeted operations, ARY News reports.

Two police officials were killed in a hand grenade and firing attack at a shop of Awami National Party (ANP) representative Abdul Razzaq Buneri at Baldia Town No. 7. A by stander was also injured in the attack.

Qari Jaafar, representative of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was killed after being targeted at Baldia Rasheedabad this morning. PTI Sindh leaders condemned the killing and said that people are being killed despite the so called target operations in the provincial metropolis.

On the other hand, Rangers arrested four persons, involved behind the target killing of more than 25 persons, from Gulshan-e-Iqbal. Arms of different varieties were recovered from the arrested persons.

 According to Rangers, they are affiliated with a political party.

Five persons were arrested during operations at FC Area, Alkaram Square, Apsara Apartment and Bandhani Colony.

Kemari Police arrested a most wanted criminal named Javed Qureshi. He was involved in criminal offences such as bank dacoities and police encounters.

Boat Basin Police also arrested a person involved in street crimes and recovered arms from the criminal.
