Karachi: Three killed, more than 50 arrested
KARACHI: Three persons were killed and two others were injured in different incidents whereas more than 50 suspects were arrested by Law Enforcing Agencies (LEAs) here in Karachi, ARY News reports on Friday.
A tortured body was found near the Edhi Home Centre at Super Highway near Gadaap. The person has not been identified as of yet.
Fourty year old Salamat Ali Khan was gunned down by unkown persons in the area of Soldier Bazaar.
Unknown persons opened fire in Cattle Colony No.6 due to which Yaqoob was killed. The relatives of Yaqoob protested against the killing of their loved one by placing his body outside the Sukkan Police Station.
A person named Muhammad Khurram was injured while resisting a robbery attempt at Nursery area on Shahrah-e-Faisal.
Two others were injured by firing at Memon Goth and Garden area of the metropolis. They were rushed to nearby hospitals for medical care.
One person was injured in a hand grenade attack at Dhobi Ghaat area. Police have stated that the incident occured due to the ongoing Lyari gang warfare.
On the other hand, LEAs carried out a search operation at Surjani Sector-50. According to sources, more than 20 suspects were taken into custody during the raid.
Special Investigations Unit (SIU) nabbed a criminal named Fareed. He was said to be involved in bank dacoity offences. According to SSP SIU Farooq Awan, the accused had committed bank robberies in the areas of New Town, Gizri and Defence.
More than 50 suspects were taken into custody after Rangers carried out an operation at Mullah Issa Goth against members of an outlawed group. More than four hundred members of LEAs took part in the raid.
