Karachi: Two gang war accused killed in police encounter

KARACHI: At least two persons were injured in firing incidents in Karachi, while two Lyari gang war suspects killed in an alleged police encounter in Juna Market area, ARY News reported on Tuesday.

Unknown gunmen opened fire at a government vehicle in  Liaquatabad F.C. Area seriously injured a government official Ghulam Abid. The injured man has been transferred to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medical treatment. 

In another incident of firing in Haroonabad area of SITE a bank manager Khurram Hanif was injured. 

A police party in Juna Market Bartan Gali on late Monday night signalled six persons on three motorbikes to stop but the accused opened fire at policemen and two of them killed in retaliatory fire by policemen, police sources said. Four motorcyclists, however, escaped from the scene. 

Police found two TT pistols, a grenade and motorbike from the men killed in encounter, police sources further said. 

According to police sources, the accused were involved in Lyari gang war and were prowling in the area with criminal intentions.
