Karachi: Two hurt in firing, several arrested in raid
KARACHI: Two persons, including a woman, were injured in a firing incident at Korangi area whereas Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) took several people into their custody after a raid at Frontier Colony area of Karachi here on Wednesday, ARY News reports.
According to details, unknown persons opened fire near Bangali Para area of Korangi Town in which two persons, including a woman, was injured.
On the other hand, a criminal was gunned down in an encounter at Sector E-11 of North Karachi. According to police, they raided the area after receiving information of the presence of criminals. During the search, the miscreants opened fire at the LEAs. One criminal was killed in the exchange of fire.
Heavy contingents of LEAs launched a search operation in Frontier Colony and its neighboring areas last night. More than 20 suspected criminals were arrested in the crackdown. They were shifted to an unknown location for investigation.
According to Rangers spokesperson, different varieties of weapons were recovered from the suspects in the raid.
