Karachi: Two hardened criminals gunned down in police encounter

KARACHI: Two hardened criminals were killed in a police encounter in Sohrab Goth area on late Saturday, ARY News reported.

Anti Violent Crime Cell and police were on snap-checking in Macharr Colony, area of Sohrab Goth, when they signaled a car and a rickshaw to stop. Criminals aboard a car opened fire on law enforcers. However, in retaliatory fire, two criminals were killed.

The dead terrorists were identified as Qamar Zaman aka Zaid Ullah and Moosa Khan. Zaman had Rs 2 million bounty on his head.

Police said they recovered explosives weighing 10 to 12 kilograms and detonators from the criminals. They were involved in targeting policemen as well as other people in the city, police added.

Other terrorists of banned outfit managed to flee from the scene during the encounter.
