Karachi Unrest: 7 killed, more than 25 arrested by LEAs

KARACHI: Unrest continues to prevail in the provincial metropolis as 7 persons were killed in different firing incidents whereas more than 25 suspects were arrested by Law Enforcing Agencies (LEAs) in different operations, ARY News reports on Friday.

Six tortured bodies were found at Yaksar bridge area of Purana Golimar (Old Golimar) here on Friday morning. The six persons were identified as Gulzar, Dilawar, Shehzad, Sajid, Rizwan and Aamir. According to initial investigation, the issue may be a result of the ongoing Lyari Gang War.

The deceased persons were residents of Purana Golimar area.

Another person was killed by firing at Defense Phase-8.

On the other hand, 25 persons were nabbed by Rangers in operations at different areas of the city. Weapons were recovered during the raids.

Fazal Khan and Barat Ali, two members of inter-province drug smuggling gang, were arrested by Anti Violent Crime Cell (AVCC). According to police, the criminals used to smuggle drugs to Karachi by using trucks and coaches coming from Peshawar.

Ten persons were arrested by the police during search operation in the area of MPR Colony.
