Karachi Unrest: Two killed, TTP official arrested by LEAs

KARACHI: Two persons were killed in different incidents whereas a Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) member was arrested by Law Enforcing Agencies (LEAs), ARY News reports on Sunday.

According to Police, Aslam was killed while resisting a robbery attempt at Gulistan-e-Jauhar Block 17 whereas another person named Shoaib was injured.

A body of a person killed by an axe was found near Gushan-e-Ghazi area of Baldia Town.

Fourteen persons were injured in a cracker attack during a wedding ceremony at Muslimabad Town of Qasba Colony. Two tans genders were also amongst the injured. The injured were shifted to different hospitals were two of the injured are in critical condition.

Another three persons were injured while resisting robbery near Malir Mandir.

On the other hand, a member of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Qari Siraj and his accomplice Sarwar Baloch, an ex police officer, was arrested in a raid near the Lyari area last night. Klashnikovs and hand pistols were recovered from the arrested TTP person. He was involved in the killing of 28 persons. He is being questioned of target killings and explosions.

Heavy contingents of Rangers carried out a search operation after receiving information of terrorists, affiliated with an outlawed unit, present at Manghopir Kunwari Colony.

According to Rangers spokesman, detective dogs and women personnel also took part in the operation. More than 1000 personnel sealed the area and carried out a door to door search operation whereas an aerial surveillance of the area was also done.
