MUMBAI: Karan Johar and Kajol have been tied in a great friendship for 25 years that later materialized in a cold war.
While mostly they kept mum about the reason behind their fallout Karan In his biography An Unsuitable Boy revealed that he and Kajol never had a problem, it was between him and her husband Ajay Devgn. However, the director is clear that Kajol is a chapter that’s over for him.
One excerpt from the book said “I don’t have a relationship with Kajol anymore. We’ve had a fallout. Something happened that disturbed me deeply which I will not talk about because it’s something that I like to protect and feel it would not be fair to her or to me. After two and half decades, Kajol and I don’t talk at all. We just acknowledge each other, say ‘hello’ and walk past.”
When Kajol was asked about her ongoing cold war with Karan Johar, the actress said that relationships are “generally difficult”, be it in Bollywood or otherwise. But she maintained that she wouldn’t like to divulge too many details about what went wrong between her and KJo.
The fallout took place when Ajay Devgn accused Karan of paying Rs 25 lakh to sabotage ‘Shivaay’. It was after this that Karan mentioned in his biography that he was extremely pained and hurt by the turn of events. “When she (Kajol) reacted to the whole situation and put out a tweet saying, ‘Shocked!’ that’s when I knew it was completely over for me,” he wrote in his memoir.
But now it seems like the strong bond of Friendship prevails as Karan Recently in a wedding reunited with his best friend and posted a beautiful picture of himself with Kajol and none other than Shah Rukh Khan and captioned it; Years of love….years of movies….memories forever…. @kajol @iamsrk ❤
Kajol not letting the joyous occasion of reconciliation go by also took to Instagram to post an adorable picture of herself and Karan captioning it; Smile beats pout every time!
It seems like all is well between the two longtime friends and now all we can so is desperately await DDLJ 2.0!
