CALIFORNIA: Oscar-winning actress Kate Winslet has been honoured with a star on the prestigious Hollywood Walk of Fame, ARY News reports.
Kate Winslet has been nominated six times in the prestigious Oscars awards. She won the Oscar for her film The Reader, in which she played a role as a guard at a Nazi concentration camp.
A large number of her supporters and fans had gathered on the occasion. Winslet said that she was overwhelmed by the reception and the attendance despite the earthquake which hit the area just hours before the ceremony.
Earlier, a 4.4 magnitude earthquake jolted California. Winslet, while commenting on the earthquake, said that she was quite frightened by the jolt.
Shailene Woodley, Winslet's co-star in Divergent, along with James Cameron, director of blockbuster film Titanic, were among the celebrities cheering the actress on as she received her star.
