JAMSHORO: Police have arrested the key suspect in Tania Khaskheli murder case from Balochistan, ARY News reported on Monday.

The 19-year-old girl hailing from Jhaangara village of Sehwan was murdered on September 9 by an influential landlord of the area, Khan Muhammad Nohani, for refusing to marry him.

The landlord was arrested from Darejo area of Balochistan, while police in a raid also arrested 15 people including two women from Nigawal village of Jamshoro.

Taking suo moto notice of the murder, Chief Justice Sindh High Court (SHC) has summoned DIG Hyderabad and SSP Dadu on September 19.

Earlier, parents and a sister of the victim during a press conference had alleged that the local police were not arresting Tania’s killers due to their political influence.

They said that the influential landlord along with his armed abettors barged into the house and tried to kidnap her, but due to strong resistance put up by the family, he got furious and shot her dead.

Khan had been pressing them to marry Tania to him but they had turned down the proposal, they said and alleged that Khan had twice tried to kidnap her in the recent past.

Subsequently, the family had registered an FIR against Khan Noohani, Maula Bukhsh and other unknown culprits at the Jhangara Bajara police station.

The chief minister Sindh and the inspector general Sindh had also visited house of the victim and directed to bring the culprits to the justice.
