Khawaja Asif has no knowledge of agencies' detention centers: Shahidullah Shahid
PESHAWAR: The spokesperson of banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Shahidullah Shahid while expressing anger at the statement of the Federal Defence Minister, has said that Khawaja Asif himself is not aware of how many detention centers secret agencies have in Pakistan – ARY News reports.
According to details, Khawaja Asif had earlier stated that no women and children are being held by the agencies under custody. Shahid said that the Defence Minister himself has no knowledge of the detention centers. He added that the secret agencies of Pakistan have detention centers all over the country including FATA, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Balochistan.
The TTP spokesperson told that the Government of Pakistan has given a legal status to these centers in the name of Pakistan Protection Ordinance (PPO).
He further elaborated that the Taliban committee has been provided with the list of some non-combatant prisoners, as evidence.
Shahidullah Shahid inquired the Defence Minister that by putting the negotiations on stake whose agenda is he pursuing.
He said that confusion is persisting in the Government's circles, however if an advancement takes place regarding the release of our prisoners, then some more names will also be presented to the Government.
