Khawaja Saad Rafique asks CM Punjab to take DPO Attock to task

LAHORE: Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique appealed Chief Minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif to take DPO Attock to task as the cleared land of Attock district has been recaptured by the party member, ARY News reported.

Addressing to Railway labor Union in Lahore on Sunday, Saad Rafique said that railway land will be cleared as per orders of Supreme Court of Pakistan.

“In few months, provincial governments, according to Supreme Court orders, would give land back to the department”, the Minister added.

Saad said that Shahbaz Sharif had issued Rs 800.8 million to Pakistan Railways which was pending. He appealed to the provinces to pay dues to Pakistan Railways.
 
The minister further said that there should be balance between passenger trains and freight trains.

He said that Pakistan Railways is focusing to make efficient use of freight trains. 

"PR would purchase 40 new engines for passenger trains and 23 out of them would be used for freight trains", he added.

He said that all railway workers had to work hard suggesting to increase the working hours to 18.
