ISLAMABAD: State minister Khurram Dastagir has tendered his regisnation from his privatization portfolio, ARY News reported on Saturday.
Dastagir however will continue as the state minister for trade and textile.
A government spokesman has confirmed that the additional charge of the state minister for privatization has been taken back from Khurram Dastagir, however, he will remain the state minister for trade and textile.
According to sources, Dastagir has quit the office after facing problems in the affairs of Pakistan’s Privatization Commission.
Khurram Dastagir talking to ARY News said that he didn’t quit the ministry but resigned from the post of chairman Privatization Commission. He called the reports about differences as ‘baseless negative propaganda’.
The government has decided to appoint Muhammad Zubair, presently chairman Investment Board, as the new Chairman of the Privatization Commission.
Muhammad Zubair has been brother of Assad Umar, a central leader of Pakistan Tehrik e Insaf.
