ISLAMABAD: Congratulating nation on getting GSP Plus status, Federal Minister for Commerce and Textile Industry Engineer Khurram Dastgir Khan advised traders to put all possible efforts to increase the country’s exports by taking full advantage of the facility, ARY News reported.
While addressing a press conference in Islamabad on Monday, Khurram Dastgir said that Pakistan has achieved a big success after 10 years in trading sector and declared it as a challenge for the government and traders to expand their export basket and enlarge their capacity to boost exports.
He credited government and Foreign Ministry, who puts direct efforts to achieve the goal of getting GSP Plus status.
“The GSP Plus will provide duty free access to 6,000 Pakistani products to 27 European countries, which would raise Pakistan’s exports by $1 billion annually”, said Minister of Commerce and Textile Industry.
Khurram Dastgir Khan said that biggest obstacle to increase exports of the country has been removed and directed traders to play their role to raise foreign exchange of the country.
